So, today was a webinar day! Pretty cool, I have to say. I was eating toast, drinking coffee, wearing a ratty old t-shirt and shorts, and the best part is........I can do it again tomorrow! I only watched the first webinar on the list today "Apps in Action for Multiple Disabilities". I learned about some great new apps and I have a feeling some of them are going to sneak into the top 20 for our assignment. I really liked the Kid Art app (see pic below)
This is an app that promotes creativity, engages children, and very easy to use. I would like to see this app in action in conjunction with the Puzzle My Picture App. You could have students draw pictures or even write words, and then have them put the puzzle back together again. It would help with their ability to see the different parts of the pictures and ultimately help them be able to see and hear the different sounds the words make. I made a really simple example (the word dog) to show you, please see the picture below:
I also really liked the voice over function, but I don't have it as it isn't on the 3rd generation touches. I may try out the big magnify app to use for quick demonstrations in my biology classes that I teach. Would be great for enlarging small structures during a dissection or examining plant leaves, stems, etc.
Today wasn't a huge day for me and my touch - we did a few app purchases, checked the NHL headlines, and used the thesaurus (do you say the thesaurus?). I am also getting hooked on the Pictureka app!
